Let’s have the thrill of joining the world in celebrating the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare (1564-1616) by understanding him and his plays, tragedies in particular, better through interaction, viewing and enactment.

You have an opportunity at the workshop to talk about any of the plays Shakespeare has written, to read and see fractions of significant scenes from his six celebrated tragedies and, if you dare, to do a role or two yourself. At the end of it all, you are likely to say you appreciate the tragedies better.

The workshop will be conducted by Sir S D Desai, whom you know as an eminent Drama Critic for nearly four decades now. Gujarat Sahitya Academy has published three of his many books -‘Happenings’, ‘More Happenings’ and ‘Images’. His book on Shakespeare is in the pipeline. He has directed plays and has written as well a couple of them. He has been for many years on juries at prestigious drama contests. A much sought after, loved and respected voice in theatre and performing arts, by senior and budding artists alike, he will share and enhance your excitement at the workshop.

LIMITED SEATS ONLY. Book Now.

The workshop is organised as part of the GLF - Gujarat Literature Festival that is happening from 14-18 of December 2016.
