An event organised by Bhuj Bicycle Club in association with The Cycling Club of Baroda on 27th November in the heart of Kutch, Gujarat. It is for the first time that a Brevet event is organized by Bhuj Bicycle Club. The event comes up as the winter season starts in Kutch with cold mornings and evenings and bearably hot through the day.
The route starts from Bhuj towards western part of Kutch on SH-42 up to the tip of Kutch passing though number of villages and couple of towns reaching Mata Na Madh (the famous Maa Ashapura Temple) first and then Narayan Sarovar, almost the last stop from where sea boundary starts. En route you pass through the Tropic of Cancer and wild ass habitat. As your start, you can see amazing sun rise on your left as you pass through lush green fields changing to barren landscapes of Kutch. The terrain at start is almost flat which changes to rolling after around 80 km.
Bhuj Bicycle Club is a group of around 35-40 cycling enthusiasts at Bhuj-Kutch, Gujarat cycling in a group since past 3-4 years. In and around Bhuj, we have quite a few beautiful trails and routes suitable for cycling and we get together every Sunday for group ride of 40-50 km. Many of us have successfully participated in BRM200 and 300 events. A group of 20 riders of our club have recently completed cycling expedition from Manali to Leh, considered to be one of the toughest routes in India.
