Synopsis: 

The play begins with the childhood of Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay living in Mangalore. She grew up under the positive influences of three great ladies : her mother Girijabai promoted progressive education in her daughter, her broad-minded grandmother taught languages and literature and her teacher Margaret imbibed her thoughts with a sense of equality of genders and love for the performing arts which was further polished by her second husband Harindranath Chattopadhyay, brother of Sarojini Naidu.
She inspired herself after meeting freedom fighters and seeing plight of older married sisters to become a social reformer. As a young widow, Kamaladevi pursued higher studies, married second time discarding opposition from an orthodox society, and finally she even divorced Harindranath when she realised that her dignity was being compromised. She dedicated her life as a Sevika in Seval Dal and convinced Mahatma Gandhi on letting women participate in Dandi March of Salt Satyagraha. Later, Kamaladevi contested a seat in Madras Provincial Legislative Assembly and reformed the Indian arts and handicrafts. 
The play focuses on the multiple facets of Kamaladevi’s life reflected through monologues and characterizations executed by Bhagirathi Bai.
